About Dr. Amy Townsend

Dr. Amy Townsend is a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician and a native of Southeast Texas.

Dr. Amy Townsend is a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician with deep roots in Southeast Texas. After graduating from Bridge City High School, she attended Texas A&M University where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science. She obtained her Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she was an honor graduate. Dr. Townsend completed her residency with the Louisiana State University Family Medicine Program in Lake Charles, where she also served as co-chief resident.

 

After her training, Dr. Townsend returned to Southeast Texas with her husband and daughter to serve the local community. She has experience in various healthcare settings, including outpatient primary care and inpatient hospital medicine. Dr. Townsend has also held leadership positions, such as Medical Director for Hospital Medicine programs in Port Arthur, Beaumont, and Austin, and Regional Vice President of Medical Affairs for the Southeast Texas Region of Christus Health.

 

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Townsend is actively involved in organized medicine. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association and has served as the President of the Jefferson County Medical Association. Dr. Townsend is a strong advocate for grassroots advocacy and was one of the founding members of Physicians for Patient Protection and Texas 400.  She is an active member of the Rotary Club and supports various charitable organizations in the community.

Pam Williams RN is a native Southeast Texan, having lived her entire life in Bridge City.  She graduated from Lamar University-Orange and has been in the nursing field since 1998.  She is an avid runner, wife and mother.  Pam enjoys promoting a healthy lifestyle by assisting others with their healthcare needs.  Having worked for 22 years in the dialysis field she has seen what toll high blood pressure and diabetes can have on someone’s health.  With 26 years in healthcare she has seen the roadblocks that insurance-based companies create.  Now working in patient-centered care she can better assist patients with their healthcare needs without the roadblocks and denials of insurance companies.  She looks forward to helping promote your health with compassion and empathy.
